Profile:

Denise’s practice is entirely in Family Law, specifically relating to children, and violence within family relationships. She has extensive experience of conducting proceedings under the Children Act 1989, Placement Order and Adoption proceedings, domestic violence and proceedings under the Family Law Act 1996, and applications to remove children from the jurisdiction.

Denise regularly conducts public law cases on behalf of Local Authorities, respondent parents, and children through their Guardian. Denise is frequently instructed by the Official Solicitor to represent adults who by reason of mental impairment are unable to understand the proceedings or give direct instructions. She also has extensive experience of representing parents who have a learning disability but who do not require assistance from the Official Solicitor.

Denise supports her local community by sitting as a Panel Member on the School Appeals Panel which hears appeals against school allocation involving Education Leeds.
