Martin practised at the Leeds Bar from 1972 to 1980 after which he practised as a solicitor for thirteen years before returning to the bar in 1993. He has at all times been involved in general Criminal work. The present emphasis is on prosecution work but with none the less frequent appearances for the defence in high tariff cases.
