Profile:

Laura undertakes both defence and prosecution work in all areas and at all levels of criminal law. More recently her practice has become predominantly defence based.  In the Crown Court Laura has been instructed to defend in a number of cases some of which have involved conspiracy to supply Class A drugs, section 18, burglary, tax credit fraud and possession of a sawn-off shotgun (which raised the minimum five year term).

Laura has also appeared in successful hearings at the Court of Appeal.

With regards to prosecuting Laura was the third junior in a complex Customs conspiracy involving a terrorist related red diesel fraud.  She has also prosecuted cases involving the importation of large quantities of pornography (including child images), confiscation hearings, restriction order applications, cash detention hearings and condemnation hearings.

Laura has been involved for both the prosecution and defence in civil applications for Anti Social Behaviour Orders.  Furthermore, she has gained significant experience with Dangerous Dog cases including cases where successful legal argument led to acquittals.
