Profile:

Stephen Grattage is regularly led in large financial conspiracies, often complex in nature up to and including ‘Ponzi’ frauds.

Stephen’s year working within the corporate department of magic circle solicitors Freshfield Bruckhaus Deringer has given him a detailed understanding of the largest company structures. This was complimented through his affiliation with Furnival Chambers, a leading set in relation to financial crime and confiscation; members of which author the leading confiscation text.

In his defence work, he has been instructed in very high cost case frauds relating to ‘red diesel’ and large scale employee theft. His confiscation work has involved defending prosecutor’s statements requesting orders in excess of £500,000.

Prosecuting, though not on the Attorney General’s List and therefore available to defend such actions, he has been instructed regularly to prosecute benefit frauds of a high profile nature, and large scale excise evasion conspiracies.
