Practice in all types of crime, but over 50% of practice is sex offending

Entirely criminal.  All crime but over 50% rape and other serious sexual offences.  Significant fraud work, including banking (case pending involving bank manager allowing £750,000 overdraft), pension, cars, wine and VAT and money laundering. Accountancy experience.

Recent other cases included conspiracy to murder, manslaughter, armed robbery, drug dealing, child cruelty, death by dangerous driving, Full Sutton prison mutiny and riot (representing a “Hells Angel”).  Also road traffic law, particularly exceptional hardship; represented TV personalities.

Happy to act in less serious cases.

Vast Court of Appeal experience, including where not involved at Crown Court stage and reviewed conviction or sentence. Many successful appeals against IPP and against minimum terms, many of which have been wrongly set.
Two whole life term cases currently pending before ECHR.

Experienced in instructing experts; comfortable with cell site, fatal road traffic reconstruction and DNA evidence.
Recently lectured on special measures.
