Trainer of ‘Expert Witnesses’ in drugs cases

Robert practices predominantly in criminal law, acting for both the Prosecution and Defence in all areas. He has been led on behalf of the defence in several cases including:

-          conspiracy to steal (R. v Vickers and others)

-          violent disorder and section 18 assault (R. v Wali and others) and

-          £2 million MOT fraud (R. v Barker and others).

Another large case in which Robert appeared (without a leader) was the case of R. v Hodgson and others, involving the piracy of films, music and video games. The overall fraud being worth over £4million to the media industry.

He also prosecutes regularly on behalf of the Department for Work and Pensions and HM Revenue and Customs. Recent prosecutions have involved defendants concerned in large-scale benefit fraud using forged giro-cheques and the illegal importation of dutiable goods.

He has appeared, and been successful, at the Court of Appeal on a number of occasions.

Robert has a good knowledge of prison law and often appears on behalf of prisoners at adjudications and parole hearings.
