Steven practices Criminal Law, specialising in defence work in the Crown Court. During his career, Steven has been involved in every conceivable type of criminal case, ranging from cases of petty dishonesty through to very high profile murder, manslaughter and drugs cases.
Steven’s strength is his ability to communicate with defendants; judges; juries and solicitors alike. Defendants are put at ease by Steven’s confident, professional and friendly approach.
Steven is a very experienced trial advocate and is also particularly known as being a highly accomplished and skilful mitigator.
Steven has a number of reported cases to his name, the best known of which is R v Schumann 2007 2 Cr App R (S) 465, the case which has commonly come to be known as the “Humber Bridge” case.
