Laura Addy represented the hotel in the high profile inquest touching on the death of James Nigel Butterfield who died on the 5 May 2010 in the fire at the Majestic hotel in Harrogate. Following the hearing, in which Laura ensured the interests of the hotel were protected, the jury returned a verdict of accidental death. During the course of the hearing the Coroner concluded that the hotel's fire safety policy and reaction to the events of the 5 May 2010 was such that he found no health and safety issues to be addressed. The evidence was such that it was clear the reaction of the staff immediately responding to the fire was nothing but commendable.
