Sovereign Chambers is a long established and forward-looking set of barristers' chambers, meeting the needs of clients in the areas of Crime, Family, Civil, Commercial and Employment Law.

We are looking for practitioners in civil, crime and family and welcome applications from individuals or groups. 

We are a professional set with a newly refurbished fully air conditioned building halfway between the Railway Station and Leeds Court Centre.  With fair expenses, plenty of work and storage space, a purpose built library, barristers common room, the latest computer and scanning facilities, a 100 capacity lecture theatre in house and two floors of conference suites we are the perfect base to serve you and your clients.  At the same time we are a friendly and sociable set – and one member one vote !

Mini Pupillages

We offer mini pupillages throughout the summer months. Applications are welcomed in writing between 1st January and 31st March for consideration for mini-pupillage. Any applications received outside this period will be held and considered within the next application window.

The civil team has a great deal of personal injury, fraud and contract/ commercial work to share.  We are also looking to expand in areas of housing and employment but any talented and established practitioners (7 yrs call or more) are welcome to join the team.

Our family team have secured local authority contracts and are particularly looking for quality driven practitioners with the appropriate experience to join the team. Experience of Public Law Care is desirable as well as practitioners in Ancillary Relief.

Chambers has a large and strong criminal team that welcomes applications from practitioners of more than 7 years call. The team undertakes diverse criminal work with a strong presence in most court centres on the North Eastern Circuit.  We welcome Quality and Talented Barristers to join the team.
